Soulmate AU where you and your soulmate have matching tattoos.

“Is anyone honestly surprised that I would have a tattoo of Saturn as my soulmate tattoo?” you asked, laying your head on top of your history textbook.

“No not at all. Honestly all your space talk gives me a headache. You’re almost as bad as that guy on the volleyball team. What’s his name? Oikawa?” your friend replied leaning back in their seat.

You scoffed, “I’m nothing like that playboy. Honestly I am offended you even compared me to him.”

Your friend laughed and hit you on the shoulder. You sighed and leaned back in your chair. A moment before class was to begin, you got a text from your significant other.

It read: "Hey [Name] we should see other people. I’m sorry this is sudden, but I found my soul mate. Good luck finding yours."

You stared at your phone in disbelief. They did not break up with you over text message. They weren’t like that. You blinked hoping the message would disappear. You blinked again and again, but the message still remained. Your relationship was over. No matter how much begging and pleading you did, you knew no one would give up their soulmate.

“I need to go to the bathroom,” you said almost inaudibly and ran out of the room, forgetting your phone on the way out.

Your tears blurred your vision, and you were unaware of your surroundings. You could only hear the sounds of your footsteps and your harsh breathing. There was an uneven part of the floor, and you felt your foot twist, and buckle underneath you. You fell to the floor, with a yelp of pain. The floor was cold, and sticky, and wet. You tried to stand, but the sharp pain running from your ankle up to your hip made you fall back to the floor.

“Hello?” you called and down the empty hallway. You got no response. Not like you expected any. So you just sat there. The bell rang signalling the start of class, and you could do nothing more than just sit on the ground.

“Oh man I’m late,” you heard a male voice yell, and the pounding footsteps of the male running.

“Hey can you help me?” you called as soon as his body came to view. It was the last person you wanted to see, Oikawa Tooru. He was obnoxiously loud, a playboy, very attractive, and the most annoying person on the planet.

He glanced over at you, and a small smirk rested on his smug face.

“Of course my princess,” the flirtation in his voice was sickening, “Can you stand at all?”

“No, I can’t. If I could we would not be having this problem,” you sighed in annoyance.

Oikawa pushed up the sleeves of his uniform, revealing his toned arms. You gulped upon seeing the muscle on him, as well as his arm veins. But what stuck out to you most was the little outline of saturn sketched neatly on the indent of his elbow. This was not happening. Trashykawa could not be your soulmate. You hastily pulled the your sleeves of your uniform over your matching tattoo, praying he wouldn’t notice.

“Alright I’m going to pick you up now. Are you alright with this?” wait, did this boy have manners? You didn’t expect him to ask for your consent.

You nodded, and he gently placed his arms in the bend of your knee and around your shoulders. He hoisted you in the air with little effort. Shaggy brown hair fell in front of Oikawa’s face. His brown eyes looked at you worriedly, something you were not expecting. You didn’t think he could feel concerned for someone who wasn’t one of his toys.

“Thank you,” you said quietly.

Oikawa gave you a dazzling smile, that made your pulse flare. “No problem!”

As he carried you, you felt your eyes close gently. His breathing was a steady rhythm and made you feel safe. Your hands curled around Oikawa’s shirt, and you grabbed a fistful of it. His breathing was sharp. You opened up your eyes, and saw that your sleeve had moved, and exposed your soulmate tattoo.

“You’re my soulmate?” he asked in disbelief.

“I guess,” you answered. You didn’t really want to be his soulmate, but there’s nothing you can do about it.

“Do you believe in aliens?” Oikawa asked excitedly. You looked up at him in surprise. Space? Didn’t he know that you were the school’s biggest space hoe?

“Yeah, I believe in aliens,” you replied cautiously, not knowing how he’d react.

He apparently liked your answer because his brown eyes lit up.

“Great!” he chirped and chattered about space and aliens the rest of the way to the school’s health room. You smiled at his kid-like expressions. Maybe it was destiny for two space hoes to be soulmates.

*~*~*~*~*

It was most definitely a twisted ankle. The school nurse had you laying back with an icepack resting against your ankle. Oikawa stood by your side until the nurse dismissed him to class.

“I’ll be back [Name]-chan. I’ll get your number then alright?” Oikawa chirped, and waved goodbye.

You smiled and waved back, “Sounds like a plan, Stan.”

Were you wrong about Oikawa being a huge dickbag? Yes. Did you end up developing a crush on him during the time he was helping you? Also Yes. But at least he was your soulmate, and he apparently liked you back.

A couple of hours passed, and you were sleeping. The nurse had gone to call the hospital to send an ambulance for you. It wasn’t an emergency so she just told them to come as soon as they could, no need for sirens or anything. When you woke up, you heard a girl crying. She was running past the health room door, tears rolling down her face. You wanted to go help her, but in your current state that was impossible. You wondered what had happened to her, but as soon as Oikawa walked into the health room you guessed what had happened.

“Did you reject that girl?” you asked.

“Yes I did. I will be faithful to you. I promise you that I will not so much as look at another person romantically,” Oikawa’s face was dead serious.

“That’s sweet. But don’t be rude. You can still be nice and friendly to other people, so long as you still like me the most.”

“Of course. Now then, I need your phone number,” Oikawa smiled as he pulled out his phone. You reached for yours in your pocket, but then you remembered you left it in your class.

“I left my phone in my classroom.”

“No worries, I’ll grab it for you, darling~!”

You could tell that the pet names would get annoying.

*~*~*~*~*

You and Oikawa have been dating for a little over a week now. You were stuck in crutches for your ankle, but there wasn’t much you could do for that. Oikawa surprisingly kept true to his promise. Sure there was a couple of times he flirted with someone else, but he immediately apologized. Honestly he was punishing himself more than you could punish him for that.

“Do you want to go get coffee sometime?” Oikawa asked you as he walked you to class.

“Sure, as long as it’s not the one by the convenience store, all their decaf stuff just tastes like milk,” you stuck your tongue out in disgust.

“You drink decaf?” Oikawa asked with an eyebrow raised skeptically.

“During the day I do. I can’t sleep otherwise.”

“Ah,” soon you arrived at your class, and Oikawa bid you farewell with a kiss on the cheek.

“Come watch practice tonight okay?” he called as he was leaving.

“Yeah, alright!” you called back. A moment later you sent your mom a text telling her you’d be a bit late getting home tonight.

*~*~*~*~*

You tried to push open the doors to the gym, but your crutch got caught on the door. You cursed under your breath, and pushed it again, trying not to fall over in the process. Finally you got the door open, and stumbled into the gym.

A sickening smack sounded through the air, as Oikawa served the ball. It landed right in front of your feet.

“[Name]-chan!” he smiled and bounced over to you, “I’m so glad you could make it!”

“Yeah. Just walk me home later, deal?”

“Deal! Here just sit here next to our coach. I’m sure he’ll take good care of you!”

“Oi, captain trash can, practice started already,” a boy you recognized as Hajime Iwaizumi called out.

“Ouch, Iwa-chan you’re so mean!” Oikawa winked at you, before running off to practice.\

You watched him during his practice. He was amazing. His serves were always perfect, and his sets were always spot on. Boy, when he concentrated he looked really attractive. Not to mention the little bit of sweat rolling down his body that made him seem even hotter. You felt your tattoo burn, and you knew that this boy was yours. God, he had you helpless.

“[Name}-chan] ready to go?” Oikawa asked, standing in front of you.

“Yeah, just let me-”

“U-uhm, Oikawa-senpai, can I tell you something?” a small voice asked from behind your soulmate.

“Yes, of course,” Oikawa smiled gently, and turned to face the girl behind him.

“I was wondering… Would you maybe go out with me? I’ve liked you for so long, since middle school actually, and I just…” she trailed off.

Oikawa looked at you, and smiled apologetically before turing back to face the girl, “Hey, I’m sorry but I can’t accept your feelings. You see, I found my soulmate, whom I’ve liked since my first year here. I hope you can forgive me.”

The girl sighed, and bit her lip trying not to cry, “As long as you’re happy senpai I am too.”

Oikawa gave her head a small pat, and hugged her, before sending her off home. He turned back you smiling sheepishly.

“You’ve liked me since we were first years?” you asked raising an eyebrow skeptically.

“Yeah you see, I’m actually a coward. I thought you were too perfect to like a guy like me, so I kept my feelings hidden. You have no idea how ecstatic I am that you’re my soulmate,” Oikawa smiled, gently grabbing you hand. He leaned his forehead against yours, and had his lips dangerously close to yours.

“I must warn you, I’m a kiss virgin,” you said quietly, trying not to laugh at your own joke.

Oikawa laughed and pressed his lips against yours. It was sweet, and it just felt right to you. Your tattoo stung, but a good kind of sting.

“You know [Name], I like being your first. Hopefully there’s more where that came from.”

“I think I might love you Oikawa-kun.”

“Tooru. Call me Tooru.”

“Fine, I love you Tooru-kun,” you smiled. His name felt right on your tongue.

“Well that’s good, wanna know why?”

“Why?”

“Because I love you too!” he helped you up and onto your crutches, before leading you out of the gym.

“Hey [Name]?”

“Yeah?” you replied and swung your way beside Oikawa.

“Wanna go on that coffee date now, princess?”

“I would love to, my prince,” you winked. Maybe pet names weren’t so bad afterall.
Just a really long Oikawa fic. I'm pretty sure this is the longest one shot I have ever written in my life. It's six pages long on google docs. That being said, I'm way to lazy to actually read this, so if you find any errors please tell me so I can fix it.
